ARTIST STATEMENT BY
DEZI DECAY
I founded my intimacy and attachment to creating at a very young age, and held on; Drawing and painting with any medium I could get my hands on. Over the years I have refined my own methodology in designing and creating a piece. As an artist, I work in ink, graphite, watercolor, colored pencils, and digital. I feel as though each medium conveys depths unalike. I derive my ideas from metaphors and motifs present in my daily life, as well as media perceptions and icons. My process is cut & dry in the sense that from paper to screen I explore the darks first and move into color emanated from feelings and moods.
